* '잠시만'을 의미하는 영어 표현

많은 표현들이 많으니, 다양하게 표현해보기.

 

2. When we're way upstairs.

 : 우리가 저 멀리 윗층에 있을 때.

 

* Way 는 '저 멀리, 훨씬' 이라는 뜻으로 강조할 때 많이 쓰임.

 

3. That's not gonna happen.

 : 일어나지 않을 일이야.

 

4. Luke got his head stuck in the banister again.

 : 또 다시, Luke가 그의 머리를 난간에 끼웠어. 

 

* Get (something) stuck in

 : (Something)이 ~에 걸리다.

ex) 

We've gotten stuck in traffic jams for hours.

 : 우리는 몇시간동안 교통 체증에 갇혀있었다.

I'm stuck in a rut.

 : 일상 쳇바퀴에 갇혀있다.

 

* Banister : 난간

 

5. I was out of control growing up.

 : 난 자라면서 통제불능이었다. 완전 막나갔다.

 

6. I've done my job.

 : 내 할 일을 다했다.

 

7. Let's take it down a notch.

 : 진정해. 조용히 해.

 

* '진정해'라는 의미의 영어 표현

Take it down.

Calm down.

Take it easy.

 

* 'Notch'는 눈금이라는 뜻인데,

Top notch!

: 최고야!  라는 뜻으로 사용가능함.

 

ex) 

Q: Did you enjoy your meal? or Is everything all right?

A : It's top notch!

 

8. Oh, and this must be your dad.

 : 너의 아버지겠네요.

 

* This must be! 자주 쓰임!!

 

ex) 

1) This must be the same old game.

 : 오랜 수작이군.

 

2) This must be done quite otherwise.

 : 이건 전혀 다른 방식으로 해야 한다.

 

9. Don't be fooled by the....

 : 속지마세요.

 

* 'Don't be fooled by~' 잘 쓰임.

ex)

1) Don't be fooled by the misinformation.

 : 잘못된 정보에 속지마.

 

2) Don't be fooled by his appearances.

 : 그의 생김새에 속지마.

 

3) Don't be fooled by social media misinformation.

 :  SNS 정보에 속지마.

 

10. You and your wife must be thrilled.

 : 너와 너의 아내는 흥분되겠네!

 

* '흥분되다'는

exicted, thrilled 등 사용 가능함!

be thrilled to
